Outerbanks
It was a short trip, a personal take no guests, it's my birthday kind of trip. I arrived late, the wind was vicious, the sand was flying, and I simply couldn't put my tent up. I slept in my tiny Nissan Versa Note. The backseats laid flat and sleep pad the only thing separating me from the car seat edges. It was not a comfortable night. But it was my night. The stars were brilliant and the sunset was the kind that makes you weep. I wasn't really there to shoot so much as I was there to experience. Sometimes, you have to just be in a space before you can begin photographing. Guess what? It turns out in my last minute planning and rush to get out the door before anyone at home changed their mind, I had brought only one battery with me and the one in my camera was on it's last leg. Turns out I wasn't really meant to shoot. The images below, are my favorites of the few I was able to shoot.
