Sea Kelp

Julia Pfieffer State Park, Big Sur, Ca

Many months after photographing this image, we were watching the movie Gravity and there was a moment when Sandra Bullock was looking back at earth and my daughter Natalia said, "Mom, look it's your picture!" It wasn't my picture but man it sure looked like it. When I made the image, I was focused on the various types of key in the water and the colors at play. There had been seals swimming all around us and playing hid and seek. When people look at this image they are not sure what they are looking at. They think it's a sky view of an island. Readjusting their vision, they then "see" the sea kelp.
Sometimes on the trip, I had no answer for what I was experiencing, how it related to God nor what it told me about Him. Sometimes what I learned came months after the image. Months after the trip.
I learned that knowing God, sometimes has everything to do with changing our perspective. Readjusting OUR vision, readjusting OUR thoughts. Sometimes we see what we want to see or have been trained to see. Sometimes we simply haven't looked at all.

"For what may be known about God is plain to them. because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly see, being understood from His workmanship."
Romans 1:19-20
