My name is Lovejoy, Toni Lovejoy, and I am so thankful you are here.

I started out as a sports photographer in the early 80’s and quickly moved into fashion photography working in Australia. While living and working in Australia, I had an offer to work with Stevie Wonder and turned down the work because at the time, I didn’t know studio lighting! CRAZY stuff right? Well, while I never shot for him, I did sing on stage with him, and we did become friends. I finally learned studio lighting, as I went on to shoot fashion in Arizona, work on films and commercials in LA, and documentary work in Japan. However, my heart has always been focused on the beauty of natural lighting. When I moved back to my home state of Iowa in 2001, I made it a focus to remain true to the nature of light. The majority of the work you see is shot in natural light.

Where did the name for my business come from? My father, Jimmy Lovejoy, was an artist and from the time I was a little kid going to his art shows, he would introduce himself by saying, “My name is Lovejoy!” My father passed away in 2009 and in honor of his legacy of art and intuitive talent, I decided to name my studio after his moniker; My Name is Lovejoy!
